I am mixed and have white friends, and a white fiancee, so no accusations of me being racist. Thank you.

Lately I have been going to a comedy club, and alot of the comedian, most of whom are black are telling jokes like that.

Examples:
(black comic): Welcome to Germantown. Where you can see caucasions in their natural habitat.

(black comic): Where are all the rowdy white people. When things get outta hand, y'all gonna get me arrested.

(George Carlin): White people have no business playing the blues. Your job is to give people the blues.

I'll admit I like those jokes, but as long as no one group is picked on.

One comic said, I offended everyone here, but remember, I offended EVERYONE.

Ok, a white poking fun at a black.

There is a ventriloquist named Jeff Dunham who has a black dummy named Sweeeeet Daddy Dee. The dummy tell these jokes making fun of NASCAR and hockey.

Nascar: Look, they making a left turn. Look they're making another left turn. Look another left turn. Go take a nap, you ain't gonna' miss a damn thing!!

Now there is a double standard, but he was joking about blacks (the dummy), and whites (himself) literally in the same breath.

Well, for the most part, I see y'all have a pretty good humor about it.
I'll admit there IS a double standard, most blacks may not be tolerant of the jokes, but in time hopefully we can have a respect for one another and point fun at our flaws and quirks.
My father is a comic, and he always said, only make fun of "your own." As someone mixed w/ black, german, english, polish, and possibly french, I have alot of groups I could tease under that theory...and they are all my blood.
I applaud y'all for being able to laugh at yourselves... if respectful white people (and they'd have to be know to be respectful) told jokes about black people, we could laugh at ourselves. Unfortunately the majority of black jokes are told by racists, or those perceived to be racist.

I think they're funny.

If a person cannot laugh at themself (or their people group) then they might just need therapy.

I don't mind the jokes execept when they get out of hand. And likewise with black people joke or mexican jokes and so on. Some I'll admit are funny but when they are just too over the top they get a little annoying.
But I'm a good sport about these kind of jokes and laugh along with the crowd =)

yeah I don't think we really care. we're not really allowed to tell the same kind of jokes, but it's no big deal.

being made fun of is a lot better than being hated because you're white- but every ethnicity seems to have to go through that.

Also, I don't really think that most white people identify themselves with 'being white'. That's not where our personalities are, if that makes any sense. If we were more prideful about being white, we might be more liable to take offense.

Let's face it, white people can say and do some really goofy sh*t sometimes.

well its fine if it doesn't start getting really bad, but the good thing about it is that they really aren't rude. Plus, there are other racist jokes about black people, white people, and even hispanic people. all types can be made fun of in one joke, but as long as you can laugh about it with a hispanic or black friend, then your JUST laughing at a joke, and that is simply it.

i'm not racist at all, but there really are some funny racist jokes which includes both white, black or whatever. I crack up if it's a racist joke about white people, people should take no offense, they're only there to make people laugh. Such as: why don't they let the black babies play on the sand? Because cats try to cover them up

I think it's all in good fun! I'm not at all offended. Now if they keep it up and that's ALL they do I might think they had some issues with "white people." On a side note: My ancestors were Native American and I don't think they get much "press" in America.

I am white and I am all for jokes about all races, as long as they are spoke to most of the truth like white ppl cant dance, black ppl have big lips, you know the ones that dont hurt anyone but for the most part are true. Its funny the differences that our cultures has and laughter is the best cure. Everyone gets together and laughs at others and themselves then we'd all get along better...Me and my black friends and white friends make fun of each other alot, mostly no limits but not disrespectful.

I tolerate them more from other white people.

I don't tell racist jokes; I don't appreciate being on the receiving end, either.

The only thing that bothers me about it is, you know if a white person made jokes about a black person they'd yell racism. Other than that I don't care. I'm opened minded enough to realize that everyone has their own opinion. Most likely they're only doing it for the show anyway. They are pretty funny though.

I, as a white man, would like to see a proliferation of WASP jokes.

Here's one: How many WASPs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
One, to call a repairman.
