2 years ago, a friend of mine came back from london and bought these very tasty candy bars called BOUNTY and they were delicious.

i remember the candy was chocolate on the outside, and crunchy like a kit kat bar on the inside, with a creamy coconut filling.

so i was very excited last week because it was my first time in london.... so i went to sainsburys and bought 50 BOUNTY bars.

when i went back to my hotel room to eat one of them, i noticed that there was just coconut inside.

NO MORE crunchy inside????

does bounty make different types of candy bars??

i know that i bought the right one because, i remember the white and blue wrapper, with the coconut picture.

my question is ===== did they change the candy bar RECIPE???

thanks!!

It's very strange that the people who've answered your question so far think you may have got the "wrong kind of Bounty".

I don't think Bounties have ever been crunchy inside. I think they've always been the way they are now, where the only 'crunchiness' comes from the flakes of coconut.

That German web page just shows various different pack and bar sizes (and the ice cream version) but none of them have any wafer or biscuit inside.

So... ermm... I guess you're not going to like this answer, but I think your memory must be at fault – unless your friend bought some kind of short-lived special crunchy version, or an import from someplace where they have such a thing.

The Bounties that you bought last week ARE the real thing!

Bounty is made by Mars Inc, and there are several kinds. I could not find a page in English, but there was a German link on the Mars site that showed the packaging. It looks like they may have changed the recipe, but I would write to the Mars company to verify that. If you hit home on the site below, it should lead you to a contact email. Good luck!

Nope, bounties have always been like that. There's dark chocolate (red wrapper) and milk chocolate (blue wrapper) versions, but that's the extent of it. They've never had wafer as far as I know.

You sure you weren't eating a kit kat and a bounty at the same time??
