If you weren't married to long ago. Both SSN numbers were recorded when you got your wedding permit . The County recorder should have everything on file . Did you ever file taxes together ? It will be on your tax forms . You can retain a copy by writing to the IRS . Don't approach it in the negative way . It will not open doors for you. Make it like your trying to do something special for her . Like getting life insurance . A SSN number always needs to be put on the Beneficiary part. Running someone Else's credit without their permission though can be damaging to you in court . Besides it is against the law without the person's permission.
