Im alittle over 8 months now and I have been extremely uncomfortable for 2 days now...i can't lay down or sit or even stand without tossing and turning, leaning on things or anything! My baby is up really high, seems like he is under my ribs and KICKING THEM and I cant position myself any certain way to relieve that pressure either. Im starting to get a terrible headache and backache and I was just wondering if anyone knew of ANYTHING safe to help me rest my body and mind. ect food or medicine.......

Im just so tired i could cry...

I feel so bad for you. I dread ever getting pregnant again for this same reason. I was miserable the whole time with all day sickness, elbows and feet in my ribs and feeling like I couldnt breathe and would die soon, lol.

At this point I dont think that there is too much you really can do except just readjusting yourself over and over again. You may be able to get his/her little booty to move another way and he/she should be moving south sometime soon anyways.

Good luck:)

Yikes, been there done that! I would try a warm bath, or even swimming. Depending on where you live of course, I would opt for an indoor pool (no sun!!!) and just float around. Water helped me alot when I was gearing up to give birth.

When the baby kicks your ribs, try sitting down in a chair and arching your back just a little like a cat, and that might take some of the pressure off.

Try comfort foods. You like ice cream? Buy a gallon and DIG IN. Green tea worked best for me. Also just try mall walking. That will also help induce your labor when you get a little farther along, and usually malls are relaxing. Dont forget the food court! hahah!!

warm tea with some lemon drops (ordinary tea bag tea, don't have herbal stuff when u are pregnant), a gentle massage with baby or olive oil - only of lower legs, arms and shoulders. You can put some wamr oil on your head and have someone just lightly work it in, here in India we have a massage throughout pregnancy (avoiding the stomach and back area) only to relieve the symptoms you have listed. This is going to go on for a while, though you will get relief in the ribs once the baby descends 2-10 days before he/she is ready to make an appearance, so be strong sweetie! No one position is going to be satisfactory so that tossing and turnign will continue. My best advice is gentle massage, no need for meds, you are almost done with your 40 weeks, why risk yourself or the little munchkin as this point. All the best. It will pass, read good books, watch funny movies, listen to pleasent music and eat healthy.

As stupid as this is going to sound, it works. I carried twins, and MAN did I have a backache! Get on your bed (easier than the floor) on hands and knees. Arch your back up toward the ceiling, and as you do that, tuck your chin in toward your chest. Hold it for a few seconds in that position. Then try to "drop" the weight of your belly slowly toward the surface of the bed, and lift your head up and try to look at the ceiling. Hold that for a few seconds. Repeat 5 times. It seems to open up all the spaces in between the vertebrae, and relaxes the muscles in the back.
Be sure to use a pillow between your legs when you sleep, it helps hold your hips in alignment, reducing the over-curvature of the spine. The memory foam on the top of your bed may give you some added comfort as well, it reduces pressure points.

you could go for a swim and relax in the pool. That way the weight of the baby is not on you so much. Its a very uncomfy time but not much longer. Also have you thought about getting a pregnancy massage?

The only thing that ever relaxed me when i was pregnant was a bath I used to take like 4 of them a day...my poor husband always had to stop what he was doing to help me in and out of the tub but it was sooo relazing. I hope that helps and hang in there it will be over soon. Congratulations.

Trying putting pillows around you for support and just relax, with a cool towel on your head. Maybe hubby can rub your feet, helps to relax and ease discomfort.

Go swimming - you'll be able to get that weight off your legs! Or try lying down with a pillow under your bump & one between your knees.

I know it's horrible & uncomfortable, but not long to go now- good luck & congrats! :)

Try epsome salts in warm bath water. I dunno whats in them but when my muscles are sore..just put about a cup and a half in your bath water ans soak your troubles away. also if you back is bothering you that bad try visiting a chiropractor. some actually specialize in pregnant bodies and he/she may be able to adjust your spine into a more workable postion. best of luck.
