IF HE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE YOU TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR FAMILY AND TAKE HIS HELP. IN LOTS OF FAMILY WHERE HUSBAND ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. THE WOMAN BECOMES THE HEAD.

What do you mean by making responsible. What is the real problem. If you are specific, then some way can be thought of. By the way, it is the other way around also. Many times, wives think they are only doing everything/ know everything and the husband is not responsible. At the same time, husbands also may think the same of their wives.

The problem lies in the question itself!

You cannot "make" anyone do anything and others cannot make you do anything , UNLESS that person wnats to change. It is likely that what you perceive as "being responsible" the other does not see it that way. He may see it as imposition or an unjustifed demand. That is where ego takes up strong position and there you have the stalemate.

I feel you have to talk to him and ask his views about his responsibility. there will be a meeting point somewhere. afterall everyone wants peace, happiness and harmony

If u want to make someone a bit responsible then be irresponsible for a couple of days. If he question about ur new attitude, tell him he is ur ideal and make him realise how irresposible he is. This really works most of the time. I had the same problem but this method works.

He is already an adult. If he is not responsible yet, then the only way he can be responsible is to change himself. Try to have a face to face with a third person that will support you. At least it will help him realize that he is not responsible right?

HI
first try to find out whether he is really irresponsible or that is your thinking .No person in this universe is perfect so if it is really hard to cope up with your husbands irresponsibility speak to him tell him what are the problems you are facing because of his behaviour still if he doesnt change let him face for few days he will understand himself.
have a good day

You can't make your husband do anything. What you see is what you get....You must have recognized this before you got married.

Only he can recognize his need for change and then do something about it.

No amount of whinning, nagging and complaining will change him.

Also, STOP apologizing for his behavior and making up where you feel he falls short. That's called co dependency.

I hope you can find peace and happiness....

tell him straight in the face what are his responsibilities!!! let him know you're not happy being with an irresponsible husband... make him realize the importance in fulfilling responsobilities, give him ultimatum, show him the consequences if he will remain irresponsible..

unfortunately not.All you can do is lead by example if he will talk ask him why he doesnt take any responsibility for small things at first that hopefully wont cause an arguement but if its deep in his soul only professional help may work but sometimes you accept it or walk away as in seperate .

wow with all those answers it is obvious few women have high opinions about men.
A few questions:
In what way do you want to make him responsible?
Do you both work?
Have kids?
Do you want him to do more around the house or does he need to go out and get a job?
