...Foley, and others

Not that I ever heard of. However, some people who were molested as children (particularly males) become child molesters when they grow up.

It seems that Foley is trying to fudge the line between child molester and gay person. No one is asking him about his sexual preferences with consenting adults not in his employ. His problem appears to be with underage boys who are also working at junior levels in his own workplace, where he is senior. This is known as pederasty, and is one of the most heinous crimes committed against young people.

Imagine sending your child to D. C. for perverts like Foley to approach them for sex?

It's not about being gay at all, it's about preying on weaker, less capable people. It's about a power trip, and it is likely that he learned that through his own molestation.

Doesn't excuse him at all; there are too many who don't have such problems and too many more who find ways to get counseling or other help to get over it.

No, no one knows for sure what makes someone homosexual or not. What is for sure, just as Kinsey revealed, human sexuality is fluid and almost as unique as a fingerprint. I know people who've been gay all their lives and they admit likewise.

Hetereosexuality may be society's norm, but who is to say it's "normal" or right?

Truly this (homosexuality) remains an enigma. Let's not try and judge people, what does it matter if they're gay?

Heck NO! Being molested as a child may lead to several things but homosexual is not one of them.

Not always in sociology we learned that most people are born gay even if they don't get molested .....some women i think turn lesbian because of bad trauma as children because they are in fear or hate men because they bring up flash backs.
