See a doctor, as it is a symptom of something else, like sinus pressure, high blood pressure, or an oncoming cold - or you could have an inner ear infection. (or something else).
In the meantime, don't listen to loud music but play a radio or cd in the background kind of softly or put a fan on in the room - "white noise" seems to make the ringing less noticable. Check out the muzzling for sure though.

hi, glad to answer. I'm a fellow tinnitus sufferer. Well some tinnitus disappears in a few days.. But unfortunately some stays there forever. I got tinnitus from loud music. Then i was fine for 2 years with a tinnitus type where you get ringing for a few seconds every once in while. And just 2 days ago, after my ear got clogged( with wax) i started getting a constant ringing that doesn't disappear . There is no cure for tinnitus, but therapies of various kinds can help. It's up to you to find it. Some people use sound or music as a way to distract themselves from the nonstop ringing. some people if they have ringing that is not that loud, can just cope by mental exercises. some people say they've gotten some relief with certain vitamins or supplements.

Usually there is no cure or effective treatment for tinnitus. But some causes are taking aspirin on regular basis, Alika-seltzer also contains aspirin. Have you been on antibiotics, many of these can cause tinnitus. If you have listened to loud music over a period of time, had multiple ear infections even as a child, been around any type constant loud noises. Damage is done, and most likely irreversible. If it so severe that it interferes with your daily activities. There is a clinic in Atlanta, George that treats severe tendinitis. My brother a hunter went there about 8 years ago, no results, only recommendation was a type of ear surgery that would leave him deaf, but no ringing in ears. Not much of a choice. Hope this helps

Any of the following can cause tinnitus: Some medications. Listening to very loud music. Chemotherapy. Unfortunate genetics. Anything that destroys the cilia (fine hairs) in your ears that carry sound waves.

One of the leading causes for the ringing is because of earwax that has been pushed too far into the ear, such as with a Q-tip. Go to your doctor and have them do an ear exam--this will be the most likely cause.

Well, you'd be in good company - William Shatner supposedly has it! It's worse when it's quiet, so a sound generator helps at bedtime. I have also heard that a low sodium diet helps. Of course, you also make sure you don't take in any salicylates (aspirin and anything with it, pepto-bismol, I think even wintergreen!) Have you seen a doctor yet?

I heard ringing in my ears too, like louder hearing test. It could be tinnitus. Gets louder over time. Use this to reduce the ringing.
