Unplug it (computer off first) And believe it or not you can wash it! into the sink with it.
The big big trick is, make sure that it is TOTALLY dry before pugging it back in. This will involve leaving it out to dry for a few days.

If you know how to take it apart do so. Make or print a diagram of exactly where each key goes back on the board and a diagram for the wire spring on the space key so you can get it back on correctly.
Use ONLY distilled water and dunk the parts in that. Swish them around and that will get ride of the soda. Shake off any excess water.
Now lay the parts on towels and let them dry over night. Make sure the parts are dry in the morning and put it back together.
The other choice is go down to Wal-Mart and get a new one for $10.00 (in the US).
You are not the only person this has happened to and it happens more often than you think. I have had to salvage a number of keyboards for friends who did exactly what you did. Stuff happens, don't worry about it.

I pop the keys out, put them in a colander and run them through the dishwasher.
Then I take rubbing alcohol and q tips and go over the rest of the keyboard.
After everything is dry, put the keys back on in the right place. Be careful. If you break the plastic holes, you end up buying a new keyboard.

Pop off those keys making use of a pen or paperclip and wash them in warm soapy water. Get a rag with warm soapy water and sparkling off the sticky pop on the quite keyboard. enable air dry or use a paper towel to dry it up faster. gently push the keys back into position, the gap bar is somewhat trickier, it many times has a metallic bar that has to slot in its holder first. that's quite no longer a huge deal to attempt this, about once a year I take off all my keys and resources them a strong scrubbin'. I merely doesn't submerge the quite keyboard in water, i have heard of human beings that've performed it, yet many times wiping down the gap less than the keys is all you opt to do.

pour iso -prophile alcohol onto the key board and shake the keyboard forcefully 5 or 6 times then wither the contents ( alcohol + impurities) off then wipe the keyboard with a clean cloth.

ive dont that many times.....if your keytboard is waterproof then dunk in in water and let it soak if not then unscrew the back and there should be a layer of this rubber stuff that covers the inportant stuff like the chips that make the keyboard work....set that aside. wipe the keyboard down with a damp not wet cloth the u should be fine

The best and the easiest thing you need to do is go buy a new keyboard and stop thinking about it.

Rumour has it that most modern keyboards can be cleaned quite liberally with water..and then dried...but I would check with a reputable manufacturer or supplier for advice...replacement keyboards are cheap enough now to just get a replacement....its safer...

you need to buy another keyboard because it will eventually stop working. my cat used my hp keyboard for his liter box (peed on it). It worked for a day or two but then I had to buy another one. Sorry. Oh yeah they have spill resistant keyboards now.
