No, it would make sound waves. It's not actually 'sound' until an eardrum converts it.

Scientifically speaking it would certainly make a sound when the tree comes in contact with the ground or some other things on the ground. The decibel may differ. And it is not necessary that anyone has to be there in close premises to listen to that sound. You said forest and remember trees have life and trees are more sensitive to the sounds. So when some tree in the forest broke other tree would listen to the sound. And even trees, plants share their feeling with others may be tree, human being, dog or anything.

Beacause there's no one to hear it doesnt mean it wouldnt make a sound. It would definately make one.
Is it only when you look at the clock it shows you the time?

they would hear the sound
