OK,
For the sake of this I will assume you are of a legal age, so I will ask all of you this...
If you were considering dating someone, what is the largest age difference you would consider between you and the other person no matter how attractive the other person is to you?

Let's say for example that you are 22 or so and at a club, and spotted someone you did not know that you thought looked very attractive, and they and you met and started chatting and enjoying each other's company. The other person after awhile revealed that he (or she) was much older (or younger) than you might have ever guessed.

Assuming that other person is of at least legal age, would you still be turned off simply because of a great age difference, of lets say for example 10 or 20 or more years difference even if the other person was in shape?

Have you ever dated someone much older (or younger) than you, and were you both happy?

LOL - a friend of mine actually has a FORMULA for this!
(I think it's best used for adults who are not seniors, since an 80 year old with a 47 year old seems quite odd...)

It's called "Half Plus Seven".
She says:
1. take the age of the older person
2. divide it in half, and
3. add seven.

Then, as long as the younger person is of legal age, AND is at least the number you've just come up with, it's all good.

So, if the OP (older person) is ______, the YP (younger person) should be at least ______.

OP 50 YP 32
OP 45 YP 29-30
OP 40 YP 27
OP 35 YP 24-25
OP 30 YP 22
OP 25 YP 19-20
OP 20 YP 17
OP 18 YP 16

I don't know that I fully subscribe to it, but it's certainly creative!

Im the kind of person that thinks age does not matter but I also think that I like having things in common with a guy that I'm dating. I'm 21 I have a lot of friends different ages, so I kinda have an idea on what they think, what they like, what they do for fun, etc, so I think my limit so that I can feel comfortable would be 28, max 30. Younger, my personal experience tells me to stick with people my age or older! =D

First of all an 18 year old and a 40 year old would not have much in common once out of that environment.
I was always attracting younger men and was surprised when I found out there age .I was 13 years older then one and 10 years older then another .I realized that it would not work out and broke it off . a female can not be that much older then a male .
Time is not kind after a certain age so don't wast it .
My life mate is 9 1/2 years older .

I'm 22, and a woman would have to be between the ages of 19 and 24 for me to consider dating her. 18 is a little too young for me, and they tend to not know what they want in life. Anyone over 24 is probably looking at marriage or permanently settling down and I do not want that until after I turn 25. I'm not saying that I play the fields now or sleep around(gross), I only like relationships, but when I turn 25 I will start looking for the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Thats a pretty long question = what are you doing - taking a survey?? Well I am never comfortable dating anyone younger than me - so if a woman had asked me out when say i was 22 I would go out with her even if she was say 45 now I've gotten older and the same thing hold true but I dont think I'd like to go out with anyone older than 50

Good question... i have never dated or even hooked up with anyone younger than me i am 20... i have always been with older people the most being 6 years... I like maturity but still play fullness so that's who i usually go for... So really depending on the person but i probably wouldn't go for a big age jump.. But hey never say never ; )

I think 10 years is about my limit. I dated a guy 7 years younger, and he was at the cutting edge of not in my "generation" . Things being viewed in a similar manner, ideas reflected that give you comfort, songs that can be enjoyed by both parties, kind of makes it stick, you know what I mean? Too far, and one or the other is the parent. I am afraid I don't feel like teaching anyone ( thatI consider grown) how to do what.

I have never really thought it before. My husband is 8 and nearly 9 years older than me,and I see no age difference,so I am taking a guess that I would think someone who is say 10,12,13 years older than you would be alright.I don't know if I would date a man who was too much younger than me though, but no one can say never when it comes to love.

My age difference limit is 5 years. Preferably having my husband older.
I would not be 'turned off' because of the age difference, but I wouldn't consider him anymore. 'Turned off' is not the word I would put it in. I have never dated someone MUCH older/younger than me.
I am currently single and I am happy.
I'm actually 14 and I don't want to get married.
And I bet I'm going to get a bad rating for my answer. Haha. Well, best of luck to you and your answers!

Age is in your head. For example, I'm 19, but that's only how long I've existed in my current incarnation. I'm much older than that mentally.

So given that the maturity level isn't too low, and the intelligence can keep up with me, I'd say about +/- 3 or so.
