I think it's inappropriate for the office.
Personally, I think a guy who does not bathe regularly and who looks like a fried chicken walking should not display his bare feet, much less a toe ring, in any setting.

Right off the bat........Is he gay? No but I think there is a better time/place for that definately not at work. He sounds unprofessional and to old to be acting like he is in high school.

I think that a 35 year old man should not be wearing a toe ring, any man for that matter, but if he chose to, he should show it off in another appropriate setting. There is a time and a place for eveything, and work is not the appropriate place for that.

Sounds like this guy is looking for attention. Very strange for a guy to be sporting a toe ring!!!! But in the office? He's getting desperate!

I think that this is totally inappropriate behavior on his part. However, there is nothing wrong with wearing a toe ring. I am a guy, and I wear one on each foot. Toe rings are just jewelry, it does not define who you are.

That is in approiate dress for a business office. Check with your manager about code and leave a nice printed note with no name politely telling him this is how to dress in an office. That way, you cant be accused of going over his head, or anything beacuse he dosent know it was you!

i agree it is inappropriate for any casual friday, let alone any day in any office/job. you should complain that it made you uncomfortable at work because his hygiene is distracting and the open toe shoes are not to any professional dress code. that should get someone to talk to him and get him to conform to a more environmentally friendly (non-smelly) work place.

This guy is probably very down to earth, huh?
Not exactly appropriate for the office. If he bothers you, pay him no mind.

I'd think it was weird at best. And from your description of the guy--just plain disgusting.

Inappropriate and, quite frankly, gross. Then again, I think most feet are icky anyway!
