I have so many choices at my school. I'd like some professional opinions or answers from anyone who has experience with dance and supplementing it with these conditioning systems. I'd like to focus on the best system for benefiting dancers.

I love pilates. It seems to stretch me out much better than yoga. It is relaxing as well as conditioning. In my opinion, it is the better choice of the three for dancers. In my classes, we incorporated a lot of Pilates moves into our warm up stretches and it seemed to make us stretched out much more quickly.

Hope this helps!

The option among Yoga and Pilates is determined by what you're watching for. If you wish an pastime that improves flexibility at the same time firming your muscle groups - specially the ones abs - then Pilates is often your greater option. If you wish to pay attention a little extra on flexibility and rather less on firming (possibly you are getting your force coaching somewhere else), and you're additionally shopping for some thing that is helping minimize strain and offers you an possibility for a few quiet time, then you definitely will have to check out Yoga. If you've robust devout convictions, you might also be greater off with Pilates, despite the fact that many Yoga categories at the moment present very little philosophy and are appropriate for all devout persuasions. Either option is well - you are modifying your frame's wellness in some way no different style of pastime can accomplish.

If you have to choose only one: Gyrokinesis or Yoga. They give you flexibility and stregth. I would lean more toward Gyro because it also increases your stamina and is more movement-oriented.

But the best thing to do is try every discipline you can put your body into. They all help. Try one, then move to the next and go back to those who feel most helpful for your goals and needs as an aspiring dancer.

Good luck!

I would definately say pilates. As a dancer of 12 years now, I realize that your abdominal muscles are a key part of dance. Think about it... you need abdominal muscles to be flexible, jump higher, and do all the leaps and turns most dancers do. pilates are best at building up the abs.

I would suggest taking a few drop in classes of each of your options. See what feels right to you. See what keeps you motivated to coming back. If you like it, you'll be more likely to stick with it, and thats just as important as the conditioning for which you are aiming. Everyone is so different so each system of conditioning will be experienced differently by each person.

Why don't you try a few of them yourself and decide what's best for you. Half the battle with exercise is liking the exercises that you do.
