If one is asked to name Rama's sister, even people familiar with the broadtheme of the Ramayana may be at a loss. But one of Dasaratha's ministers tells the king: "It is Rishyashringa, your son-in-law, who will ultimately help you get your sons."

Dasaratha's son-in-law? Yes, indeed, the Sanskrit dramatist Bhavabhuti says in his Uttara Rama Caritra that Dasaratha had a daughter by the name of Shanta; he doesn't specify the queen-mother. Shanta was adopted by King Romapada, ruler of Anga. And she was given in marriage to Rishyashringa who was the son of Vibhandaka.

Rama had three brothers. He never had a sister.

But are you really asking a question? or Trying to raise some controvercy?

A person named Atul Can not be ignorant about RAMA's story. ASk genuin question instead of fanning bad feeling.

added:

The whole story given in Uttar Rama Charitam is of much later date. Authors create new characters to suit them. Like Flying Hanuman of " Rama Charit Maanas". In original Ramayana He swam across the sea. But Ramayana does not mentions Rama's sister.

What I have read in Ramayana retold by C. Rajagopalachary, Sri Rama had no sister; he had only 3 brothers. Except Sita, all women elder in age to Rama were mother to him and all women younger than Sita were sisters to him. He was a perfect being, and hence he treated every other girl as his sister. As an Indian Muslim this is what I have understood about Sri Rama.
