They really shouldn't be summoning you so soon. But, you got to do it.Talk to someone while you are there, it could have been an error. Where I am from, they cannot call you for a full 18 months if you have previously served. I live in a small town, I am called every 18 months. ARGH!

It's quite possible you were chosen for either State or Federal jury duty--and now, the OTHER is tapping you for the potential job. It happened to me: tapped for State level jury duty in April; Federal level jury duty in June--same year.

Any time you get an official letter for Jury Duty, it's best to call the court house the letter came from. But STOP!!! Don't call the number on the letter. Instead, look up the number in your local phone book (should be under Clerk Of Court, either on the State or Federal level)--just to make sure it's a legit call to duty.

And you don't want to be late getting to either jury duty.

Regardless of what you asked, you were still required to go until you have been either seated on the jury panel or is excused by the judge. Your refusal to do so would result in imprisonment. I'm glad you made the smart choice to answer the court summons for jury duty in March.

Call into the Jury Duty Office and they should excuse you once you explain the situation.

You have to go everytime you get a little summon thingy, if you're not chosen you will be called on more often so that maybe you'll be chosen next time. Only once you serve do you not get another letter till like a year.

you still have to go, evading jury duty is a crime, just go and tell them that you already got called this year and they'll remove you from the mailing list

If you have a summons it is a new ball game and you need to report. They may again not choose you, but you do need to report for jury duty.

It's the law.
