What is this new stuff on the bottom of the page about dicussions.?

there are , what seems to be sheet of paper icons, and some other ones , i dont get it. What are they for.

Those are small illustrations representing objects, ideas, functions or files. On any other site, they would most undoubtedly have a purpose. With Y!A, nobody else gets it either.

It's for people to have side bars aka discussions.
