like, should i get an associates or bachelors degree. and what kind of degree(police science/law enforcment/criminaljustice/etc.) should i go for in order to be able to eventually make it into the swat or into a commanding/leadership position. such as swat command or into a leading position in narcotics or leading something like the motorcycle squad.

I say get a BA in sociology focusing on crime and deviance and an associates degree or a minor in criminal justice. The associates degree/minor will give you practical skills, while the BA in sociology will give you great insight in to processes that cause crime, ways to deal with citizens and criminals, and how to be an effective leader.

A bachelor's degree in criminal justice should be sufficient. Then you must apply to the police academy. You should have your choice of concentration in the criminal justice program, such as if you wanted to focus on forensics. Good luck.
