I'm not sure how barbarity propagates. Maybe it's handed down, one generation to another. Who knows? I am, however, convinced that today's civilization could not exist without it. Not that we couldn't live without what goes on on the streets or within the drug culture. What we couldn't live without is what goes on on Wall Street and in the spires of the mega corporations. Consider greed as a motivating force, ruthlessness as a foundation for practice, the utter lack of conscience and compassion. That's barbarism. That's what drives the economy. That's barbarism in fifteen hundred dollar suits and hundred and fifty thousand dollar cars.

Barbarism is synonymous to backwardness, cruelty and civilization is the advancement to cultural and technological development. While it is true, that in order to be civilized is to get rid of barbarous acts. Yes, barbarity and civilization co-existed from the start but it is a must to eliminate Barbarism to enhance
Civilization.

Barbarism is just the shortfall in a person who has not fully realised what it takes to remain a human being. A group of such people when they come together, find better ways to express their animal instincts !

No, civilization begins when barbarians get tired of acting that way and decide to agree to cooperate for mutual goals. That's when people can live in peace in a city. It isn't civilization that breeds barbarians. It's barbarians that don't want to grow up..
