It depends what ur intrests are and how good you are with programming.
You can create an e-greeting card site that has the feature of free member login and offers an yearly reminder to occasional cards you sent. It should be able to send them the card lets say for XMAS or new year by choosing random cards of its own choice (the web application).
This way the user will not be required to re-send the greeting card every year to specific users but the application will send it itself.

Maybe you could make some website that focuses on teaching old people how to use the Internet, as boring as that would be.

hey, how about clearance database system. A system that hasten the clearance signing for graduating student. You can have several departments, each with its own account, and own students.
