Assuming the domain name is registered to you or your holdings (like an LLC), make sure your keep your login details safe. Next step is to explore the possibility of filing an application to show you have "formal" trademark rights to the term in question.

For US, hop over to www.uspto.gov. Note that trademarks actually arise from usage (especially if you've established your use for the term for something for a period of time), but registering for such will give you more benefits.

Word of caution: getting a trademark is NOT a 100% guarantee you'll be able to absolutely legally protect your domain name. Neither does it give you absolute exclusivity for the word/s nor guarantee you'll be able to successful grab domain names from others.

However, by being RAW (Ready, Able, Willing) to demonstrate trademark rights to the term in question (especially with a registered trademark), you'll have better chances than others.

Trademark/patent. Also register it not with another host you need to pay more to make your own. It would not hurt you to get your own server:)
