Of course we have freedom of speech. I mean, look at how many people publicly insult George Bush. Do you think they would've gotten away with that if they'd said the same things about King George in the 1700's?

If we do not protect the speech we do not like, we don't have...and apparently don't want freedom of speech. I believe that all humans should have the freedom of speech. It is what keeps us from becoming slaves. Being able to speak our minds...to disagree and work to change what we disagree with...so long as we don't infringe on anyone else's right to speak their minds...is what protects us from tyrrany. When everyone has a voice, everyone becomes a person in everyone else's eyes...not an enemy, a person. A human being.

The ability to speak our minds is what makes us Human. By taking that away, you are enslaving everyone. Everyone becomes no more than work donkeys where no freedom of speech exists...even those in control!

Speaking our minds is what creates community. Life is better with community :D

Tru, you need to spend some time in countries that do not have a constitution such as ours. I could name some for you but you know plenty too.

Speaking out in many other places of the world will get you jailed, if not killed. Literally.
