You are most likely out of luck. I had a similar situation happen when a truck coming from the other direction cracked my windshield and put nicks in the paint of a less than six month old Suburban. After hounding the city (it was a local city truck) they essentially denied any wrong doing and referred me to their insurance carrier. The insurance company for the city said they would make me pay through the courts and a legal battle until it was not cost justified for me to persue it any longer.

I was literally fighting city hall and we've all heard how that usually comes out.

Did you get the name of the company? Liscense plate?
Road you were on? Time--description of the driver?

It all helps and if you had called dispatch right away--though that is low on priority.

If you had all of that, it might help. However, saying all of that--you might try calling your local police dept., or State Patrol, and seeing if anyone else called in around the same time reporting DTP--damage to property, around the same time on the freeway and see if you get lucky. Sometimes it happens.

You can also call your INS. CO and report it, but you take the risk of deductible and increased ins. rates. if you do not have someone who is responsible.

Good luck.

Its only the truck's fault if it were hauling gravel and a rock came off of the load. Same goes for anything on the truck coming off and hitting your vehicle. If it come off the truck its his fault. If it comes off of the road there is nothing you can do about it. Might check into the mud flap option. If his mud flap were missing it might be but its a long shot.

seem- im no longer gonna sugarcoat your answer here even nonetheless i comprehend its no longer what you desire to pay attention. the subject is absolutely everyone could call their enterprise and say rocks hit their vehicle. So except you have a police record, a witness, or the motive force admits that his rocks fell.. your going to be out of success. you may attempt to touch them (or have your coverage guard the damages then flow after them to your deductible) yet particularly it not often works out. coverage criminal duty is in step with info. and it seems which you won't have any. good success!

Same thing just happened to me -again! Your insurance should pay for it. Unless you got the license # of the truck & you can prove it - you're out of luck. My last windshield was replaced by a guy who came to the house. I had to pay $50.00 & they billed ins. for the rest.

Even if you got the name of the truck company you would probably not get anything from them because you can't prove they did it. It's just one of those things that sucks.
