Years ago, G Harold Carswell (a Federal Judge, nominated by President Nixon) was arrested in a public restroom for making sexual advances to an undercover policeman, in Washington, DC. Almost twenty years later, Barney Frank was busted running a gay prostitution ring. Carswell's career was ruined, but Barney Frank was re-elected. All of the above involved underage boys. What is the difference?

I am a liberal democrat, but the hipocrisy bothers me. Fact is, I do not care what consenting adults do behind closed doors. It is when under-age minors are involved, that bothers me. The Republicans are not hiding it, granted they said nothing about it until they were caught omitting the faults of their own party. I do not want to see it, but I do believe that the republicans will still maintain a majority in the US Legislature after the mid-term elections.

The present and the past--what matters to you more at this moment? What matter most to the mainstream U.S citizen? Frank admitted his faults and has since repented. The Bush regime will be investigated started in December and yet they still think they're right!! Just be glad this incident happened, the republicans course of politics was heading so far right that you wouldn't be able to forgive yourself for supporting them, especially if they got in again.

Are you asking, or is this a rhetorical question? Because I see no real difference - obviously all are/were gay, the only thing I can see that's different is the use of the internet and party affiliations. I hope you're not trying to say something about the Democrats now....

You have one falsehood in your email. Frank was not running the prostie ring. His ex-partner was running it out of his basement. Frank denies knowledge of it and actually removed the guy about 4 months prior to it going public.

Do I wholly believe him? Not necessarily. But you have to go on evidence. And there is nothing definitvely proving he knew about it. And there was no one underage in the Frank case.

Just read the article. So, there's a couple of differences for you.
