Direct Tv without a doubt.

Direct TV by far. I was an installer for direct TV but this is not a bias answer. Direct TV does not use any splitters ever and Dish does. Splitters kill band width. Also Direct TV has better packages such as the sunday ticket.

When you order that Direct TV make sure and order the KaKu dish so you can get all of the high def channels too.

I'm not a big fan of either because if the weather gets bad, the satellite usually goes out and you have no idea what's coming your way. I have cable and that's what I recommend.

However, if your only two choices are satellite, I preferred the DirecTV over Dish. We have had both.
