The TRUTH about the lower gas prices:

Oil went up to $85 per barrel. When this happened, the market got flooded with oil because everyone wanted to make as much money as possible with the $85 per barrel cost. Demand for oil stayed roughly the same as it was when it was $55 per barrel. Now the supply well-outpaced demand. Oil was no longer going to sell for $85 per barrel because the commodities traders (yes, oil is a commodity, set by fair-market price), because there was so much oil being produced. Commodity traders then valued a barrel of oil at less and less of a price because it would no longer sell at the high price because of the great supply. Supply outpaces demand, price goes down, consumers become happy again. This happens all the time in short cycles. In order to get a good understanding of how much oil is ACTUALLY going up in price, you have to compare what it was at at the exact same time last year, only then will you get a good understanding of the fact that oil is only going up by $2-$3 per year, not $15-$20. In all actuality, the price of a gallon of gas only rises about 10-15 cents every year compared to the same time period as the previous year.

The oil companies lowered the prices, how could they leave their republican buddies hangin out to dry with gas at 3$ plus a gallon come election time? Get real! Amazing how their is no real explanation--the pubs can't take the credit cause then people would know who is in control and ask what happened with the hike?

No, I think the oil companies lowered the price BECAUSE of the election. Protecting profits.

Lol, what do you mean he lowered the prices. Lowering by 5 cents is not lowering. Lowering by 2 bux, like it used to be 4 years ago, that would've been nice.

If he had the power to lower the price of gas, he would also have the power to raise your IQ.

Get a clue, pinhead!

Bush can't raise em or lower them. He's just lucky that supply is up and prices down.
It is all supply and demand.
