What have you done lately to change it?

Contrary to the responses you already received, there is an answer to that question. Initially, according to God's purpose for the Earth, our first two parents were to live in the garden of Eden, bare children and continue to live as long they remained obedient. By disobeying God's command not to eat from the 'tree of knowledge of good and bad', they rejected our creator and allowed sin to enter into the world. This rebellion, led by the fallen angel now known as Satan the Devil (translates opposer & slanderer) would have to run its course and allow each of us to determine for ourselves who we want to serve. Revelation clearly says "Woe for the earth, for the devil has come down to you knowing he has a short period of time". This 'woe' is the magnitude of chaos and destruction the Satan will impose on mankind in these last days. In additional, you can count on true Christians will be persecuted tto the extreme for their convictions. However, we know God will not permit this wickedness indefinitely for Psalm 37:19 says "a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more" and verse 29 reads "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will reside forever upon it in the abundance of peace". Certainly something worth waiting for.
