Chat rooms suck for males too. On line dating is well.. mostly not too much better but a possibility. Getting out of the house to a book store or park area with junior you might meet someone or a girl to be friends with leading to a new guy. However you meet a guy don't take too long to let them know you have a son. Save the time and trouble.

This can be a hard situation for a single mother. You just have to meet the right guy, that likes children. Where and how is a situation experience in itself. There are a few places you can make friends and it could lead to more, but, you have to consider distance!
This link; http://www.dating-now.com/ is more like Pen-Pals. But, you may find a good friend and over time it may become more. Scroll down and you find where to set up a Free Account. Pay close attention as to how you fill out your "Profile" and try to be truthful, as you will have people contact you. If, nothing else you can have a good friend or two that you can talk to.

Go to Borders bookstore. Let your son go to the children's book section. You go also, but while you find some good reading that you are interested in.........if you see someone who you find interesting.....strike up some conversation.
OR go back to school. Meaning take a college course. Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Even if you take up....art or something. Get yourself out to social places, and see if you don't find something, or someone of interest.
Good luck.

get your son into sport and become a soccer mum, that way you'll at least be out there and socialising with other parents.
or maybe you can do something together with your son, like music, art, drama, backgammon, etc. just get out and try as many new things as you can, and don't worry about your son so much, coz he too will be gaining from these experiences.
