if you have been suffering from a cronic like cough for 2 weeks, and are now coughing up phlem it more than likely means you might have an upper respritory infection or a seriously bad chest cold.
You could have Broncitis or the making of pnemonia.
You should go to your doctor even if it is just a normal cough, if it lasts more than a week you should always consult your doctor.
Good Luck

Happens to me about once a year. All that crap that has been building up in your sinuses (because of your cold/allergies) drained down into your lungs, and now your body is trying to get rid of it.
There's several OTC meds that will help shorten the length of the cough (i.e., help you cough it all up sooner). The best I've found is Guaifenesin (generic name).

Yes. It is perfectly normal to be coughing up phlegm. It means you are healthy. If you start coughing up blood you know that you are in REALLY good shape.

Probably allergies - I had the same problem for over a month - but it would be a good idea to see your doctor.
