I teach 7th grade social studies and need information about the Rocky Mountain region states. According to the map I am using, the states in this region are MT, ID, WY, CO, UT and NV. I am having a very hard time find info. on this region with these states. Any information would be helpful. I also face the same problem with the Southwest region. The states included are NM, AZ, OK, and TX. Please help if you can.

I live at 7000 feet in Wyoming. The terrain is mostly prairie and desert, so much of our climate is standard for type. Add in the altitude, and you'll end up with very hot, very short summer seasons, no spring or fall to speak of, and long, very cold winters.

I have known it to snow here on the fourth of July, but normally our last snow is in early June and our first snow is the second week of September. Any growing crops have to be of the short-season variety, and trees can be difficult to plant successfully because we have to wait until the last frost danger has passed, while there isn't really time to get sufficient roots established to carry them through the minus 40 degree winters.

Any other questions you'd like to know, just ask. I have lived in Colorado, Idaho and Montana, also. Those states vary more by area than Wyoming does.
