Let me explain why this will be a sweep for us...

Wang won.
Mussina is up next.
Johnson, most likely, after that.
Our pitching may be slightly worse than Detroit, but Mussina and Johnson are both veterans, both former all-stars, and both can bring the big game.

Next... our lineup:

Johnny Damon CF
Derek Jeter SS
Bobby Abreu RF
Gary Sheffield 1B
Jason Giambi DH
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Hideki Matsui LF
Jorge Posada C
Robinson Cano 2B

Jesus could be on the mound. If he had to face Murderer's Row 2K6, he'd be sweating. Our 7, 8 and 9 hitters could be successful 3, 4 and 5 hitters for other teams.

If we lose one game, it will probably be game 2 since Mussina has a dark cloud over his head to where he never gets run support, not with the Yanks, and not when he was an Oriole.

No. The Tigers still have a lot of fight in them and cannot be counted out. They won't be swept unless something apocalyptic happens to them in the next 24 hours!
It looked as if Polanco may have hurt his shoulder again,
but thank God that cutie is OK! : )

The Tigers have proved that they are worthy of being a survivor of the regular season and have too much pride and talent to allow a sweep.
They may not be able to overcome this game one loss but I believe they will pull out a win or 2.

The Yanks will destroy them horribly but the tigers will not be swept.

The Yanks will be awfully tough to beat this year. I predict a Yankees-Dodgers repeat of 1981, and 1978, and 1977, and 1963, 1955, 1953....

Yanks in six.

No. The Yankees pitching is not as good as the Tigers. This will go 5 games and I'm not sure who will win it.

Detroit will get one, probably Game 3 in Detroit.

But they're overmatched in this series, especially if New York's going to score 8 runs a game.
