They say that new babys dont really need to many baths because they are not crawling around or getting into things. Just wipe under there necks and make sure their bottom is clean and dry. On the other hand, old milk in neck crevacis can sure smell. I would geive the baby a bath right before bedtime, or in the morning first thing, when baby is alert. Generally they say 2-3 days, unless there is physicall mess all over the baby, and then we would wash them anyway.
Good Luck to you

Give them a bath at night, followed by a bottle (or breast) and maybe they'll go to sleep for the night. I give my baby (4 months) a bath every other day! I used to give them to her at night when she was first born then give her a bottle and she'd be out for the night (well, until she woke up at 4am for a feeding) When she started sleeping threw the night (2 1/2 months) with no problem I give her a bath in the middle of the day/morning but, after the bath she still likes her bottle and 1/2 the time she'll take a quick nap after. Good Luck.

i have no experience in the matter, but it seems logical to give a baby a bath around afternoon, because the temperature is more stable, and the baby wont catch a cold, also the baby will be more active, but 2 people just told me its better to give the baby a bath at night so it will sleep better.

Little babies don't need much washing. If you really want to bath the babe, I suggest about 30 minutes to an hour before you are ready for bed.

usually before bed calms them down pretty nice. And you can give a bath everyday some times twice a day its whatever you have them time for and if it relaxes the child it cant hurt. most children find it fun and comforting.

after a week of birth or sometimes the 2nd day after the birth.
you take the baby a bath once a day. be sure to support his head and neck. it is the most fragile part of the baby..
