If the Tigers have any chance at all they have to win today!! Being down 2-0 in a five game series is not a good thing!!! If you noticed, the Yankees middle relief looked pretty shaky. Torre nearly blew it by maybe taking Wang out too soon. That's something to consider going into tonights game.

Well, you know I'm really hoping my sweet Yankees take this series,
but in October, anything's possible.
However, with all the great Yankee bats,
I just don't know, Georgie.
The sportscaster hit the nail on the head when he said
that there's no one to pitch around in the Yankee lineup.
So even with Verlander's awesome pitching,
it might just be too much ~
even for a Rookie of the Year hopeful !
Sorry to burst your bubble.
: (
BTW: I thought the Tigers played pretty decent ball tonight !
The Yankees were just a lil better this time.

No. We've got the Tigers number. Two months ago this matchup may have been close. Now, with the addition of Abreu and the return of Sheff and Godzilla, the good but young Detroit pitching staff may be facing the best lineup in the history of the game.
P.S. It's NEVER OK to just make the playoffs or just have a good year. I can't believe I'm hearing that crap from Detroit fans. The Tigers are one of the most storied franchises in the history of the game... they deserve better than that. It's almost as bad as the whiners in Pittsburgh. What a sad state that franchise has sunk to.

Verlander has a better chance. But this doesn't change the way the Yankes play. Verlander has to have some tricks up his sleeves if he wants to knockem yankees. out.
Hopefully BOOF gets to do good against the A's.

How do you pitch to a 1-9 like that? Forget Murderer's Row, this is disgusting. You simply cannot make one mistake against these guys, and you certainly can't pitch around anyone. Buy yea, I think Verlander can do it. This cat is pure talent. Go Tigers!

You shouldn't change your avatar regardless what happens. You've said it yourself that the Tigers have exceeded your expectations for the season. (I still display my "Go Royals" license plate on my vehicle despite 3 consecutive 100 loss seasons!)
Verlander has the stuff to slow down Yankee bats. But, he's also up against the 'Yankees in October' mystique. He's gonna have to reach back for something paranormal.

Here's hoping that the Tigers steal game two and the home field advantage. There is no plan b for Detroit at this point. They need to win at least one in New York and game 2 is as good a time as any. Wang is very tough to hit, especially for free hitting fly ball hitters who tend to pop out with his heavy pitches.

Of course he can....the tigers as a team could turn it around at any moment...but if they dont i am still happy...at the begining of the year i pegged them at no better than 82 wins..so even three straight losses in the playoffs would make me happy...well pretty much so!
