If you have spiders in the tub, two things are obvious: they found a place they like to build and they have a ready food source. You will have to spray or fumigate to kill not only the spiders but also the bugs they are feeding on. I have spiders in my bath as well. I prefer to leave them alone because of the job they do controlling bugs. I simply encourage them to move their webs to less annoying areas. If you continue to brush the webs away, they will learn to build elsewhere.

Are you leaving a window open or cracked a little? Spiders get in that way. Also check your pipes going into the wall. Are there gaps there? If so, get them sealed. Sometimes I think spiders just materialize in bathtubs. Do they like baths too?
