Look, I can be sarcastic at times, but sorry, sometimes I just can't resist, OK? You are at work and are required to wear a name tag or one of those badges around your neck, it's 8 degrees F. outside, you aren't wearing a coat, and you have a clipboard in your hand. Someone walks up to you and asks; Do you work here? Can YOU resist? No, maam, I'm a burglar, no sir, I just goof off here, no, I'm shoplifting, so keep your voice down. I mean come on!

Oh heck yes! I used to do that all the time. I have done it at every place I ever worked. Most people catch on after a minute, and have a good laugh. I did have someone report me to my manager once, though. She dragged my boss to where I was and demanded to know if I worked for her. My boss winked at me, looked the woman right in the face, and said, "Ma'am, I swear to you I have never seen this woman before in my life. I don't know how she forged one of our name tags. If you will excuse me, I am going to go call the police." Everyone busted up laughing, and the woman got mad and left.

And since you seem to have the right stuff to pull it off, let me tell you another good trick to play. Ever go to a department store and get rotten treatment? It happens to me all the time because while I have money to spend, I rarely dress up to go shopping. I was at Dillard's one time, and had had two consecutive salepeople be really rude to me because they thought I could not afford the things I came to buy. I was fed up, and as I was leaving, a woman approached me and asked if I worked there. I told her I did, but that if she wanted to know the truth, I recommended she spend her money somewhere else. I told her the merchandise was overpriced for the quality, the sales staff didn't care, and she could find the same stuff at Nordstrom for less money. She took me at my word, and turned around and walked out of the store. I laughed all the way to my car :)

I think some people just don't use common sense, like in the store, a cashier is on the register, the light on the register is on, and here is a customer coming and will ask, "are you open?" but when the light is off and the ''closed'' sign is there, some will still come and ask ''are you close?'' Just when you go to self check out, you will choose if ''English or Spanish'' by trhe time you choose the language meaning you understand what the machine is saying, scan and put in the bag, or skip bagging, what makes it funny is, some people press skip bagging but putting the item in the bag, and when the machine say ''item not recognized'' the customer will get mad and call the machine ''stupid machine''. I wish one day the machine will answer back, you're the stupid one!!

Honestly, what a whore! You should have slapped her! I mean, after all, clearly you're handling important business and answering her immensely complicated question would have taken an immesnsely complicated response! What a jerk, acting like she's not an inconvenience. I'll bet it's a plot! You were completely justified in your response!

oh by the way, I can be sarcastic at times, sorry, sometimes I just can't resist...

Hi,
This happen to me either. even I already use the name tag. Yes, some kind it's make temperature high....ha3.
But, after doing little observation. many ppl will do first asking like this if see we are outside it's cause they maybe dont have other first opening conversation, so normally they will ask this question as the opening one to the next question.

So, just take it easy....

Cheers !!
