Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. It is considered a deep, ineffable feeling shared in passionate or intimate interpersonal relationships. However, in different contexts, the word love has a variety of related but distinct meanings: in addition to romantic love, which is characterized by a mix of emotional and sexual desire, other forms include Platonic love, religious love, familial love, and the more casual application of the term to anyone or anything that one considers strongly pleasurable, enjoyable, or desirable, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in a single word is commonly contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for love, reflecting the word's versatility and complexity.
Although clearly and consistently defining love is a difficult task, and often a subject of much debate, different aspects of the word can be clarified by determining what isn't "love". As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate (or neutral apathy); as a less sexual and more "pure" form of romantic attachment, love is commonly contrasted with lust; and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is commonly contrasted with friendship, though other definitions of the word love may be applied to close friendships in certain contexts.

Love to me is the way you feel when you see your mate everytime you see them regardless if you see them everyday for 10 years. For example I've been with my husband for the past year 1/2 and everytime I know he comes home from work, I'm popping my fingers, and I still get that exciting feeling in my tummy. It's really cool, I never want to loose that feeling. Love is when you would do anything for anyone with out thought or doubt. This could be a family member or a lover! Regardles. LOVE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING.!! and its somthing no body in the world can never take from us..!!

The Greek language (the language of the New Testament of the Bible) differentiates between three types of love.
There is the love that says, "I think you're hot. Let's have sex."
This is Eros, or sexual love.
Another is brotherly love, commonly known as friendship or love of family.
This is known as phileo. This is the Greek root of the city Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love.
The third is agape or unconditional love. The purest form of agape love is God's love for us. On a human level, it is sometimes the love a parent has for a child.
It means, I love you in spite of anything you've done.
Hope this helps. . .

When you can accept someone and care for someone and trust someone, without doubt or regret, regardless of their appearance, that is love. To see inside a person and to know how they feel about things, that is love. To have an empty feeling in your stomach and heart when a certain other person is not around, that is love. When you want to change the whole world for someone, just to make them happy, that is love.

Love is beautiful, blind, complicated, painful, joyfull, eager, truthful, and mysterious all bundled up into one single feeling that could either make a persons day or drive them into madness.
It is the one thing that the world needs more of.
It is the single thing that everyone in the world can easily do, but regretfully not everyone does.

The little flutter you feel every time you look at your partner (from the first day you see them until you 60th anniversary). // When your child throws a tantrum, and a minute later you give them a bunch of hugs and kisses. // Calling up your parents just to hear there voice.

Love is enduring. It is not a fleeting moment, but a resonating feeling that encompasses my being.
Love is forgiving. It is unconditionally accepting the faults of another as choices that have made them who they are.
Love is selfless. At times, it is holding on for dear life, and at others, it is (unfortunately!) letting go.

Love is not having to say you're sorry for giving the syphilis you contracted from sleeping with dirty prostitutes during your last business trip to Taiwan, to your wife . You just share your penicillin and smile, knowing that you were just as likely to contract something from her.

To me, love is action. Pretty words are meaningless. Does he keep his word? If I am in trouble, will he come to help? Will he argue fairly with me when he believes he is right and I am wrong? Does he play with me? Does he laugh at my jokes? When I make a request, will he try to fulfill it simply because he knows that doing so will bring a smile to my face? Does he enjoy my company? Does he treat me with respect? Will he grow old with me?
