I am suffering from seasonal Sinus/Allergy issues, and the more I blow my nose or sniffle, the worse my hearing gets. It feels like there is a bubble in my head (no jokes, please) and I am not hearing to my full potential. I know that I'm talking louder than normal and I have to raise my t.v. volume louder than usual. I would love to read your advice on what I can do at home FIRST to fix this problem. thanks!

i have always used a few drops of swimmers ear medicine or peroxide, which usually helps me. when i queried your request, i found a recipe with olive oil and lavender oil (see link in sources). but DO NOT put any liquid in your ear if you suspect a perforated eardrum. of course i must recommend visiting a doctor. good luck!

You should go buy over the counter allergies medication that contains decongestants like Claritin-D (nondrowsy) that has loratidine (antihistamine) and pseudoephedrine (nasal decongestant). This will help alleviate the allergy issues and clear your sinus. You can take ibuprofen to help with the pain as well. Sorry, there's really not a good home remedy for relieving sinus. You can try hot vaporizers to help you breath but nothing to help with the hearing problem caused by the sinus. If you experience any fever or the condition has gotten worse in a few days, you may get an infection, in this case you must see a doctor for antibiotics.

There's special drops you can buy to break the stuff up. Just check the pharmacy near the ear plugs and such. Then after a few days of this, while you are in the shower, try to let the warm water shoot into your ear to "clean" it out. I've never heard of the peroxide thing. If you have something that will squirt water in your ear, that works just like the shower. Just remember, if you're really plugged up, it will take a few days to work through the layers of gunk.

You may just want to see a doctor the first time and make sure it's nothing serious (permanant hearing loss) before trying anything. A doc can clean you out good too, then all you have to do is "preventive" cleaning.

Sweet Oil, warm it up on a cotton swab and place a few drops in the ear let it sit for about 5 or 10 seconds, then move your head to the direction of the ear so it all comes out! GOOD LUCK

I have the same problem this is what I do:
Put a couple drops of Vitamin E on a cotton ball and keep it in your ear for a couple of hours then repeat until all cleared up.

Sounds like a wax issue. Put some peroxide in your ear, let sit about 5 minutes, then rinse out with warm water. Good luck !!

Go to your local GNC or health store and buy Beeswax Ear Cones. Basically you light them with a lighter and stick the narrow part in your ear. The warmth draws out ear junk. You would be suprised how much stuff comes out and you can hear better. Natural and safe.

Try turning your head from side to side and then touching your toes . Hold the position a few times with your hands on the floor before standing up again . Try running hot water in the bathroom with the door closed until the room fills with steam for a moment .
