I had the abortion On August 31, 2006. I had unprotected sex two weeks after that, and like every other day. Last friday I went to my doctors for just the hell of it to get a pregnancy test done, and it came out positive. He referred me to an Ob, to get checked up on, then Yesterday I woke up bleeding and made my appt. sooner for the same day. She checked me and then told me that I might not be pregnant, it just might be my period, and that the urine test I got done at the doctors office wasnt that positive, that I might of came out positive because I recently got the abortion done. So I got blood work done that same day... And still not sure, she wants me to go twice a week to get it done to see if the numbers go down on the pregnancy blood test.

I don't understand this you say you had an abortion and then have unprotected sex 2 weeks later!!!!
This is ridiculous, why bother having an abortion if you just go out and have unprotected sex straight afterwards? That is a waste of hospital time and money, that money could be going on people who have terminal illnesses - there are so many people like that who cant get the treatment they need because there is no money for the resources that are needed.
If you are not responsible enough to use protection when you are having sex then you shouldn't be bothering. I have just miscarried my twins and it makes me angry that people like you don't even bother to think of the consequences.
You are so fliappant about what you have done and then you say that you decided to go back to the doctors for a pregnancy test "just for the hell of it". What if there had been someone else who needed that appointment????????
You need to grow up and get a grip otherwise no-one will want to help you, you just sound like a silly little girl to me

if you have been pregnant recently, it's possible that the test is detecting residual hCG. However, if a pregnancy ends early on, it's unlikely that hCG will remain in your system very long, so most women have nothing to worry about here. It's a possibility you should keep in mind if you get positive HPT results soon after a previous pregnancy ended.
You can ovulate and become pregnant only 14 days after having an abortion.

I don't agree with abortions, people have their own reasons for having them, I'm surprised at the amount of people on here that have judged you with out knowing the reason you had the abortion. If the reason was you simply didn't want a baby and you think your pregnant for a second time, it was quite irresponsible of you to not use birth control. Give it a few weeks and do another test.I'm sure it was a hard decision for you to make the first time,i just hope you don't decide to go through another one. Good luck what ever the out come.

if they didn't take everything while aborting, or if it was abortion in the beginning of pregnancy they could miss it entirely, so u might be still pregnant with the first pregnancy, or if they left some piece of your fetus u might be having severe imflammation and test will be positive - that's why u re bleeding. but also if u just had abortion recently (well, august isn't that recent) anyway, your hormone level is still tuned on pregnancy, this is normal to have all pregnancy signs before the due to next period. so u just wait when this period of yours passes and then have the test again
o, and screw u alll who gave their stupid opinions blabber instead of answering question. people re so dumb - who needs their opinion after all? don't pay attention to those blabbers and better report all those blabbering opinions as "not an answer to question".

It is quite possible that the HCG that tyhe blood test picked up was from your last pregnancy. I had 3 miscarriages and got pregnant with my son within a month after the 3rd one and my OB had me come in for the blood test to check the numbers and they were much higher than they had been when I had blood work done after my D&C. Women ARE highly fertile after giving birth, miscarriage and abortions, so you really need to be careful if you are not ready to be a parent and use protection everytime you have sex.

its normal to have a positive test result after an abortion as the pregancy hormones are still in ur system... have to say tho you are incredibly selfish.. once is a mistake and maybe you had your reasons for not keeping ur baby (personally I dont agree wit abortion tho) but to be so irresponsible as to have unprotected sex again knowing that you would hav an abortion is just sick.. u dont seem to have any respect for human life

Why the hell would anyone willingly have unprotected sex less than a month after an abortion. Did knowing you'd murdered a little baby not make you even consider for a moment that you should stop being such a selfish cow and keep your legs closed???

you're think to apply a 2d variety of birth control for no less than 3 weeks after beginning a clean variety of birth control. It sounds as although you're pregnant back, per chance this time you should offer the toddler a probability and picture about adoption.

It really sickens me that there are people like you out there. First of all yes it was your body and you have the choice to get an abortion or not. I would like to think that no one takes the decision to get an abortion lightly, but you have just opened my eyes. To think that there are such idiotic people like you out there that would do something like have an abortion then 2 weeks later have unprotected sex- wtf?
I think its a womans body and therefore her choice but God, abortion should not be used as a form of birth control.
I hope they sterilize you so that you can not go forth and procreate!

This is Yahoo Answers not Yahoo I have an opinion. While I agree with the anti-abortion feeling I don't believe comments like, (you'll burn in hell sl@t) are helpful in any way whatsoever and if the bible is 100% spot on with all it says then the person who wrote that is definately NOT Christian in any way shape or form.
There, I've said my piece, I'm no gynocologist and wouldn't really add to a Question like this bar for the religious fruitcake who was spouting venom earlier in this post.
