There is nothing wrong with tattoos as long as the reason for getting one is well thought out. The ink is permanent.
I have no issue with tattoos on women it is their choice, society is becoming more and more ok with it.
Now perhaps your partner has reason to be against your tattoo. Is it very large and cannot be covered up at a job interview, or is it racist, picture of your ex, there could be many reasons sit and talk and maybe you two can find a solution.

It would seem that the amount of women to comment on this post have a general Concurrence that it is not trashy to sport a, "tramp stamp". However, it would also seem that there is a definitive pattern of women/girls who have them. There is no logic behind tattoo's; inking ones self is usually an emotional symbol. Unfortunately, tramp stamps seem to be most utilized by women with low self-esteem in a subconscious (or councious) attempt at feeling sexy. Although there is nothing wrong with FEELING sexy, some might argue that being overly promiscuous indicates an abundance of sexual activity and/or poor life choices. Personally, I feel bad for women who have fallen victim to our society via media influence. I will agree that some men will find tramp stamps attractive, but the type of man is an arguable variable. "Men" who are interested in one night stands and frequent clubs are the most likely candidate in finding these types of tattoos attractive, although that's not ALWAYS the case.

I know that an above poster already explained this, but I wanted to reinforce it. Listen Up:
Quick Disclaimer: I am not saying it is right or true. I am just informing.
Us, silly guys, do not call girls with tattoos "tramp stamps." We call a tattoo on the lower back a "tramp stamp." Also, many of us silly guys refer to a tattoo on the back of the neck as a "h* tag."
Good girls, bad girls and every girl in between get tattoos. I wouldn't be so quick to judge...no intelligent person would. However, I would be very strongly against any "partner" of mine getting a tattoo. I am not saying that I am right. I just don't get it.

He's right. Tats do give a woman 'tramp status'. Some women think that it's 'cute' to get that small butterfly, lady bug, or tiny dolphin. No it isn't. The worst thing that a woman can do is get those tats on the small of the back. Remember hon, you're going to get older. I thought how 'cool' mine looked when I was younger, but now... they look like crap. Age does that. I have wished to God many times that I had never gotten them. What was it that Forrest Gump said... "Stupid is, as stupid does." And I was a complete idiot.
NOTHING looks sexier that a woman's smooth unlemished skin. If you do get one, you'll regret it.

tramp stamp n. 1. a tattoo on a woman, especially on the back at or below the waistline. 2. a hickey (on a man). Related: English, Derogatory, Slang
Citations: 2003 [Vegas] Urban Dictionary (Mar. 22): Her pants were so low-cut, you could see her “tramp stamp.”

Just remember it's permanent and when you get old and wrinkly so does the tattoo.

It is very common for a female to have a tattoo.
Especially depending where on the body. And what is means. I hate stupid tattoos. But like if you had a child/ren and had the name(s) on your body. I think that would be great. Although I hope you don't have TOO many children.
STUPID TATTOOS,
something everybody has to say "What does that mean or say"?
cartoon characters
rose or flower or heart
design over the butt
YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE'S NAME.

I will not say tattoos are labeled as tramps. I do not mind ladies having a tattoo or two, but it depends on how they are displayed when you dress to go out.
My daughter and son has one on their ankles, but they are small. I personally do not like tattoo's on a lady, but everyone has their own taste. This is me talking.

If done in a tasteful manner I don't see anything wrong with it, I have been married 14 years and if my wife wanted to get a tattoo I would be okay with it, as long as she does not cover her whole body. I would be careful where you put it because in twenty to twenty five years when you body begins to change shape so will the tattoo. Good Luck

Don't get one if you love this man. Personally, I'm not opposed to discrete tattoos. I have no tattoos, but I would get one in a discrete location if I did.
If you love this man, do what he asks. I'll assume that he is tatoo-free. Remember that tatoos are "permanent!" Do you want to explain to your grandchildren, what that blue smudge is on your back?
Think it over! Is he the right man? Are you prepaired for the after effects?
It's your decision.
