I find them humorous. I live in the midwest and my very favorite thing to say is "Do you know where you live??? To most people this place is simply the flyover from one coast to the other! Get over yourself!".

yeah, but pretentious can cover several different behavioral traits. However I happen to agree; I find it really abrasive also.

Be careful who you call 'pretentious'... you yourself may be judged as so.
Many times people who call another person a "know it all" are usually "know it alls" themselves.
Sorry, but it has been my experience that it is usually a shallow person that is easily annoyed.
Lastly, it is usually arrogant people who call others "arrogant."

It would be nice if everyone relaxed a little and didn't try to be something they are not and were not soooooo worried about appearances all the time.
