ok it dosent hook up when you try to accelerate ,that says check the linkage first... some use a cable and some use a ( slave cylinder ) its just the fluid type .you need to figure out if youre loosing clutch or losing pedal controll... the pedal can be adjusted...sometimes the cable can be let out and lets the clutch enguage.. on a fluid actuated clutch their is usually not a problem till the little master cylinder (Slave Cylinder )goes out ..Good luck

The gears grind when you try to put the tranny in gear. It takes a second or two for the syncros to engage. The pedal is soft and there is excessive free play. The gears might stick when down shifting.

i own a repair shop and the first thing you,ll notice is the pedal getting spongy on it then it gets hard to get in gear, and then you might feel it slipping a little on it,,the slipping is usually what gives it away, and there usually isn't no adjustment left on it by the time you feel it slipping, its usually to late to save it,,,and another thing you might feel in it is a chatter when you let the pedal out on it,,these are the most common things you,ll notice on one, good luck i hope this help,s.

if you find yourself slipping gears while shifting, with increasing frequence, or you hear a grinding in the gears, its time to have your tranny inspected, and most likely your clutch replaced.
