Hate to be a negative, but out of the 4-5 online "worlds" I've looked in the category of Second Life, SL has won hands down.

When I used There.com last spring, the graphics were TERRIBLE compared to SL. I used There.com first, played for a day or two, then found SL and never went back.

SL has problems, sure. But unless There.com has changed a great deal since I've seen it, it's like playing a computer from the early 90's versus a computer game in today's technology, as far as appearance and options go. There wasn't really a comparison; visually, There.com stunk.

There.com might be easier in terms of interface; there seemed to be less things to get confused over, where SL offers a wide range of things you can do and might be a little confusing to those who don't care much about creating things or modifying the game world at all.

Yes, try There -- i know bad name but Awesome game -- just go to www.There.com -- There is a place sorta like second life but Better -- and its better because you are still able to interact w/ other users all around the world like second life but in this game, you are able to ride different things like hoverboards, or hoverboats or jet pack type of things and the hoverboats, can fly up in the sky -- oh, u can buy buggies to and drive them all around the islands -- u are also able to travel to a ton of places like second life -- there's a map and they have 4 different islands that u can travel to and the islands are quite big w/ different points on them that u can travel to.

Also, you can buy/build a house or business or fun place anywhere on the game or as they call them, vistas on the beach and stuff like that or on the water -- and u can decorate them w/ all different types of stuff too -- also, u can dress your character in different clothes and stuff like that and like second life, its partially free, but to upgrade to the whole thing, it only costs 10 bucks and if u want to buy more things for your person, it does cost real money but i'll give u an example -- i put 10 bucks into the game and in return, i got like 20,000 There bucks and that goes a Long way and u can purchase anything from hoverboards to clothes to whatever else -- also, there are auctions that u can get things at a cheaper price and stuff --

the islands that u can travel to, well, its kinda like there r endless possibilities and u travel anywhere and interact w/ so many people and its just sooo much fun -- u can even buy paintball guns and play paintball w/ other people in the game and u can own a pet -- i own a dog and u can teach them tricks and everything like that -- its really cool -- its a great game i think!!!

check it out -- let me know what u think cuz i think very highly of it and i think it is soooooo much better then second life -- i hope you'll agree w/ me!!

For something very similar to secondlife, try http://www.redlightcenters.com

It's much better than There or IMVU, way more realistic, with lots of customization options and tons of places to go to like clubs, theaters, malls, beach resorts, etc.
It is way more adult oriented.. so you must be 18+
