walks, sex and exercise. but it really makes no difference to the baby or to you or your wife's psychological well being if she is induced. either way, that baby has to come out one end/way or another. trust me, weather she is induced or not, you won't care about it anymore once that baby is in your arms.

had a still born boy on may 27 and his due date is the same as your wife (oct 3, 06). U guys conceived january 10th 2006, so congrats. I miss my baby, especially now on his due date.

Don't speed it up and don't allow a c-section. You do not want the baby born until God says it is time. My first was 7 days over and the 2nd was 5 days late. Many doctors do not always get the due date correct, it is a calculation only. Just an aproximate. If you feel you must get it moving a little exercise will do it. Not strenuous more like yoga, walking, light stretches, floor exercises, riding an indoor bike. I was at the gym when I went into labor with both.
Good luck and be calm you will be parents soon.

Why speed up the process? If your wife is healthy and not showing any signs of distress, (high sugar, high blood pressure, over-weight, edema, etc) and the baby's vital signs appear normal, then what is all the fuss about? Rarely does a woman deliver on the "due date". My experience has been that inducing a labor could cause complications which end up in a c-section. I delivered 5 babies. (naturally) None of them near the due date- in fact most of them arrived within 1-2 weeks after the due date and all of them had high apgar scores. Relax, enjoy this wonderful part of your lives, go for long walks, and don't worry about time-tables.

I have found two things to work. First our first child we went out to a party about 5 days before due date. We just had a great time out. The next morning baby. This again just happened with our closest friends. Went out with us for a fun night and next morning baby! I think it was because the women relaxed and did not stress themselve out about the whole thing while they were out having a good time, even if they did not feel 100%.

The other thing I have heard is some pizza parlors are baby inducers. I know of three in a the SF bay area that people claim, but I have no personal experience with.

Continuous nipple stimulation (for 1-2 ho urs) will produce steady contractions in the uterus and speed things slong if the condtions are right. Dum Dum suckers pressed hard to the roof of th emouth release the body's natural potossin. Rocking in a rocking chair helps so women too. My husband always said what got them there will get them out, but that may be uncomfortable for your wife. Palmetto Saw Oil rubbed on the belly will also produce contractions. Most of all, remember that the baby will not come until it is ready. Good luck.

Walk around a lot! I was dialated at 3 cm for 12 hours and this is what my doctor had me do to speed it up. I had a natural birth as well. Good luck!

There are so many old wives tales I could tell you about, and I bet your wife would be willing to try any of them at this point.
Most people will tell you that sex induces labor, but my doctor swore that it wouldn't.
Run a search on home remedies for inducing labor or something like that. I did when I was pg & I found a lot of them.

somewhat! 40 weeks is the accepted yet every time between 38-40 two weeks is widely used. If the infant is going previous 40 two weeks (or now in case you have a sympathetic well-being care provider) they'll possibly start to quite communicate induction. some issues. Get some sleep jointly as you nonetheless can and as long as mom is healthful walk plenty and get your...um...groove on.

You should try taking her for a walk if possible on the beach because the sand is heavy and it will cause her to use alot of her lower body strength and she will dilate faster. If not she can walk for about 30 minutes believe me it will help alot. I don't think you should have sex it will not cause any harm but is it better for her to walk. If she walks today she will be in labor tomorrow. So good luck!

This is so fun- she can walk around for a month dilated at 1cm- I have heard talking castor oil may get contractions going among other things- another thing that helps the uterus contract is orgasm- no kidding- that and it feels sooooooo good- and no bad side effects-congratulations Daddy! D-RN
