Strangely, there is evidence to suggest that Friday the 13th is actually unlucky. Psychologists have found that some people are especially likely to have accidents or fall ill on Friday the 13th [citation needed]. This has been attributed to such people feeling a heightened state of anxiety on that day. The Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina estimates that in the United States alone, $800 or $900 million is lost in business each Friday the 13th because some people will not travel or go to work. [1]

The date is also well-known in the motorcycle (biker) community: since 1981, motorcycle enthusiasts and vendors gather every Friday the 13th in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. This tradition started on November 13, 1981 by Chris Simons as a gathering of approximately 25 friends. The event has grown substantially, with an estimated 100,000 people attending in August 2004, as well as music bands, vendors, a bike show, etc.

In the Spanish-speaking world, it is Tuesday the 13th (as well as Tuesdays in general) that brings bad luck[citation needed]; a proverb runs En martes, ni te cases ni te embarques (on Tuesday, neither get married nor start a journey).

Friday the 13th is a bad luck day because, the pope way back when rounded up and killed off the Knights Templar on Friday the 13th of October (forgot the year). Jaques Demolay was among the Knights rounded up and had a chance to spare his own life but refused and was burned at the stake.

It's merely a superstition that Friday the 13th is bad. I usually seem to have extra good days on Friday the 13th so I totally disagree with your statement.

13 is considered unlucky because when Judas died (from a punji jump from a high place with a fastener around his neck) Matthias became the 12th disciple, making Judas number 13.

And Friday is considered unlucky because 99 percent of professing Christians have the idea that Christ was killed on a Friday. He was actually killed on a Wednesday, on the Hebrew month of Nisan, the 14th, at 3 PM, the same time the Passover lambs were being killed.

In the past fridays were the days that all of the executions of criminals were carried. Very unlucky if you are a criminal. The number 13 has always been considered unlucky. Put them together and you get twice the bad luck.

It's all in a persons mentality. If they walk around all day thinking that something bad is going to happen, then more than likely it will.It all boils down to thinking positive. You get back what you put out. Also,i thought Jesus had 12 people @ his last supper.Anyway,Be Blessed!Monie
