Well at 18 weeks, the baby is still pretty small, so the baby probably does move a lot, but sometimes it's not as noticeable. With my pregnancy, I felt the first kicks at almost 19 weeks. It's once you are 23 weeks + that it's worrisome to not feel as much movement

So you doctor says the baby is healthy huh?...Thats good, but at 18 weeks you shouldn't really be feeling movement not just yet....You'll probably won't start to feel movement until you're about 4 or 5 months along... And good luck with the baby...Congrats

Some women have trouble recognizing the movement of their baby early on - especially if it is your first baby since you don't know what to expect. If you get the butterfly in your belly feeling, that is prolly baby moving. When I was pregnant the first time and wanted to feel my son move, I would put headphones on my belly and play him music. It worked a lot of the time.
Congratulations!!!

Is this your first? If so, I didn't feel mine until 24 weeks. If not, I also have a friend who has 2 kids, very skinny (jelouse of her I am) and didn't feel her baby move until 20 weeks. Good luck... must be a girl then.... I hear they are less active ;)

I find if you concentrate too much on it, you won't feel anything and the first one you do feel will be totally unexpected. Usually when your relaxing the baby will be sleeping. Hope this helps

That's not unusual in a first pregnancy. In fact, it's way too early to expect to feel any kicking at all. Later in the second trimester you will feel it.
