When my husband and I first started dating we were driving down a highway. My window was cracked about 8 inches, because my cigarette smoke bothered him. All of the sudden a bird flew through the window and hit me directly in the head. The bird died, and fell between the seat and the door. His insides landed on my husband's shoulder. Is this the weirdest thing you have ever heard? Has it happened to anyone else?

Long time ago I was a falconer, raised them, hunted with them, tended to their medical needs. (ie. wing shot golden eagle in 72) I had a red-tail friend that I loved to bring out often. She (Beta) was large and beautiful and it thrilled me to no end to watch her fly and hunt. One day we were out and I noticed she was flirting with a male, so I recalled her. As she landed on the glove, the male flew over head just hollering. As I was getting Beta in her aviary, the male swooped down and scratched the top of my bald spot with a talon. I'm guessing he was displeased that I put his girl up for the night...two weeks later I released her so they could pair. Spotted them off and on for several years after.
Does this count as a hit to the head by a feathered fowl?

Aho,
Fenix

In Australia male magpies sometimes attack people about the head this time of year. They are just showing off to the females but two or three people lose the sight of an eye every ten years or so. Mostly they don't actually touch people.

The magpie is a black and white bird, very common, with a big beak and about the same size as a pigeon.

Well, I've met a kamikazi bird before. My best friend and I were driving on the highway, out of the sky, as fast as lightning... BLAM!!!!! It hit the front windshield with a hug THUD and apparently rolled over the roof and off the back fo the car. Feathers were all you could see out the back windshield.
Scared the crap out of us.
We went home and told her husband we had commited birdicide...(homicide for birds) Got a laugh out of it later.

oh my gosh! I've never heard of that happening before. That is quite a unique experience. Poor bird, that's kinda disgusting. Let's hope it's not a sign of some sort.

Fabio had a goose fly directly into his face while he was on a rollercoaster. It broke his nose and wouldn't you know, there was someone there with a camera that caught the whole thing. You can probably find an image somewhere on google.
