i've often wondered, the the conspiracy people are right, and there was a coverup, why would the united states government care if there were aliens that crash landed at Area 51? at that point and time, wouldn't the higher ups be more focused on keeping Communists out of the country? what would be wrong w/letting ppl know a bunch of little green men crashed landed in a desert?

Because the United States government doesn't want people to know that aliens exist. The government has been reverse engineering E.T. craft in order to gain technology secrets. The government is interested in world control. The government made a deal with aliens that they could abduct people to create hybrids to repopulate the Earth after World War III. In exchange, the government would gain greater technology secrets. The government doesn't want people to know that it's not about a "war on terror" or "fighting for freedoms". Naturally the government would be concerned if aliens (especially space aliens with interplanetary travel) landed here. But I can't imagine why--or how--they would keep it a secret.
