No way should Jeter, Ortiz or Morneau get the MVP!
I think that Frank Thomas should get the MVP look at what he has done for Oakland he got them to the Postseason! He hit 2 Home Runs in the 1st Game of the Division Series and 1 of the Home Runs came off Johan Santana! Who is one of the Nastiest Pitchers out there! Also Thomas hit 39 Home Runs and drove in 114 Runs in the 2006 Season!

thats gay, basically reason pink sox could leave out the playoffs, that shouldnt impression ortiz he haas 40 3 hr, nd like one hundred ten+ rbis, if he has good numbas in the means catagories, than why no longer? people say Jeter may be the MVP... WHY? particular he's a good fielder yet heavily, MVP is frequently gained by using means hitting sluggers, Jeter has what.. 10 homeruns? and his occupation extreme is 24, maximum mvp's pas that by using the all initiate break. so Ortiz may be the MVP for the AL, i can not somewhat think of of absolutely everyone better in the AL, the only people who somewhat come close is Jim Thome, and Travis Hafner and oh yeah they're DHs, Jim Thome could win AL comeback participant of the year and Ortiz could be MVP... nuff suggested

We were watching the game and saying the same thing! What was Ortiz doing now? Seeing how Ortiz feels that Jeter isn't as valuable as he is, it must hurt him to know Jeter went 5-for-5, and had a great game in the field. I laugh when people say Jeter is overrated. Jeter had one RBI, but he was right in the middle of the Yankees rallies, including the big double in the third, after Damon's infield hit. Jeter is going to have a great postseason, and the Jeter-bashers will see what he means to the team.
Yeah, Jeter is awesome, and I still think he has his best years ahead of him!

I am a Yankees fan through & through, and as much as Jeter deserves it for everything he does during a game, the Twins would have a hard time making the playoffs without Justin Morneau. Jeter is a big key to the Yankees, but not as big as Morneau was for Minny this year. The Yankees have so much to overcome for the loss of one (as shown with Matsui & Sheffield).
Take both away from their respective teams...would the Yankees make the playoffs with another SS? Could the Twins have won the AL Central without the season Morneau had? It's a close call, but I have to go with the guy his team could not have lived without.

Morneau? For one freak year that may just be equal to Jeter? I can't put down Minnesota. They have a solid group of ballplayers, but Jeter is hands down the winner. If it isn't Jeter, then Dye should get it before Morneau. If Minnesota really wanted an MVP, give it to Cuddyer, a guy who can hit, steal bases, play solid fundamental baseball, not make many errors, and play every damn position on the field. All around, Cuddyer owns Morneau... and all around, Jeter owns Morneau too.
