Because of the way America's electoctoral system is set up, we have a two party, and only a two party system. There leaves no room for another major party. The parties will always have enough strenghth to stay a major party despite not having a majority of seats, and will always be able to crush minor parties in elections.

It has nothing to do with money

Hey! Where have you been? It is now Liberal or Conservative. Secular or religious. Or hasn't the media informed you of this?

There are to many Democrats and Republicans to allow a new party to transpire. Unless Mr. Lieberman can run as an Independent. He may have chance. As Democrat/Conservative.

And, the Liberal Media in this country does not want you to hear from the others. It does not fit their game plan.

We have a two-party system. The right-wingers vote Republican, and to keep the Republicans from winning, the left-leaning (who are the majority) vote for the right-leaning Democratic Party.

It's because of the voting system of the U.S., which is explained in the U.S. Constitution, primarily the part about the Electoral College. The U.S. Constitution has this rule because the U.S. Constitution has to encourage stability in the political system. The Electoral College reinforces a two-party system, where people have to compromise any radical views they might have to form two political parties. This is why in the U.S. you don't see lots and lots of parties like you see in Western European countries or other countries following the ideas of Western European voting systems, which work by direct vote. The two-party system makes the U.S. government more stable.

They are all over this site... They are the ones slamming democrats and republicans...

There have been Third-party candidates over the years that I could've supported, but I felt like I was "throwing away my vote," and often voted for the "lesser of two evils."

I hate to say it, but it boils down to money... Regardless of what people keep saying about it, it costs a ton of money to run a successful campaign, and I think this is why we see some Politicians getting in trouble with PACs.

The other parties don't have the political clout to run with the big dogs, so they have pretty much been assigned a spot guarding the porch, but this is not to say they do not play a role. If they played no role at all, they wouldn't be guarding the porch; instead, they would be sitting on the porch.

you do.. I believe such as myself. I will more times then not play the Democrat because the other guy is claiming to be a Republican.. but what you really have is the polar opposite death match here.. we get in and beat each other up with our words as best we can and then go back to see who agrees with us and who really ticks us off so we can race to their open questions where we begin the ego cycle again..
yea every pundit for themselves..

Because they Country elects whoever has the money..Kind of bizarre considering 90 percent of you don't.. I think a common man who knows what its like, to live to make ends meet, would fight for your interests more so then an out of touch rich guy. Or a guy who never ever struggled to put food on the table or gas in the car

Everything is not democrat or republican but that is where the money is, not necessarily the brains....as we have certainly found out these past six years
