First of all, any non-bigots out there should flag XXXON's initial post, as well as any further offensive posts.
How someone dresses or speaks or cleans or entertains one's self can give you clues, but basing a judgment on stereotypes is not going to result in a definite conclusion. Many people go their entire lives hiding their homosexuality.
If you don't mind violate this someone's privacy, you can search his/her computer files and/or other personal possessions. But if you're not comfortable doing that, I think you're out of luck.

Gay has no certain look. You must ask someone who knows them or go right to the source and ask. Be careful if the person isn't and you are expecting them to be you might offend them.
