I don't know how they do things in Singapore, but to apply for custody you just have to have the appropriate paper work. Legal aid may not be able to help you in the sense of representation, but they may be able to assist you in the proper forms to apply for custody. If you need to get the ball rolling without a lot of money, that would be a start. Start calling attorneys that deal with family law. Most will take payments if the situation warrants it, but if this is an international issue contact your country's embassy in Singapore

Almost all law firms can agree on instalment payments however, you have to upfront deposits from the total costs of the fees incurred. I dont know if you are a chinese or malay. Please write to my address for further info about lawyers. Since you mentioned on an urgent basis, you have to look for the lawyers fast as you need to talk and discuss your problems with the lawyers in order for them to prepare the case file before submission for Courts hearing dates.

just call lawyers offices and ask their fees and compare their rates and ask if they accept payments by installments. Good luck to you.

sorry to hear that, be prepared for a lengthly figh and the cost could soar and if the opposite party knows it, he could take advantage of this.

if you qualify, legal aid is the best place and at least the worry is on winning and not ever rising cost of expenses. there're enought headaches to content with?

good luck.
