I think its fairly clear, and I'll demonstrate this with a simple rhetorical question: If you had a dangerous person in your house would you allow them access to a gun? The same goes if you have dangerous people in your neighborhood - people kill people, but giving them better tools to do the job makes no sens at all. Killing someone with a knife is hard work, but doing it with a gun is easy. Remove the guns and you reduce the number of killings dramatically.

I guess it comes down to how you remove them: but the point about removing guns from the good guys only is erroneous: its simple mathematics. if guns are harder to get, the price goes up. Thus less people have them, and there are less to steal. Why is this so hard to figure:

zero guns = zero shootings.

How can a crook steal something when no-one has it?

Statistically you cannot deny that in areas outside of the US where guns are more restricted there is much less gun crime.

People need to come to reality on this. Stop assuming the US makes no mistakes. Stop turning a blind eye to the obvious.

I'm in a position where i may very well be moving out of the US relatively soon. Why? well just add this to the list.

When i went to school when i was 15/16 years old (i'm 28 now) i was essentially threatened daily and called his '****' by a persons bringing a pistol every day (that i had to sit next to in a class). It was a horrible school in general (you wouldn't want to be the narc here - also i lived very near to this school) Which the city was quite aware of. But 2 permanent police offers at that school every day clearly did not stop what i had to go through. (and it wasn't a very big school really)

- Do i sound anything like that^ person?
- Do you actually think your (gun-supporting) thoughts
- are closer to mine vs his?
- Do you really? Think about it. -WSAYO!

If you are in denial over the obvious lack of guns = less gun killings then so be it. But please save me the story. Easy access to guns = easier way to kill people. It's a 'given'

**For once in my life i'd like to live somewhere that has a handfull or less of gun killings per year**. **Wow imagine that***

Also, save me the assumption that i just didn't 'grow up around' guns & just don't understand the 'so called' 'need'. Granted i never joined the military but i do have some experience.

Gun-toting *cough* supporters need to get over themselves. Face reality. Face the facts. Stop being in denial and stop fighting what's allowing our children to be killed and kill eachother.

No amount of 'proper' education is going to make this problem go away. Regardless if it's based. Apparently people need to be reminded where all of 'this' and the majority of its supporters come from. *cough*

I don't see this problem going away at all.

Am i willing to give up my right to own fire arms as a US citizen? absolutely. I don't own any guns. I don't need any guns. I feel sorry for those who feel like it's just a part of being an american. I'm also mostly sickened by those who feel they have a 'need' for guns.

And my apologies for everyone outside the US who has to be a witness to this crap happening here. Take it to heart that not all yanks are the same.

- This is one of the very few times if ever that you will see me voice an 'opinion' here

not true
if u take the gun away ther is alwase a way 4 them to get another one
give everyone a gun just like the states
just set them up so only that person can fire it
wen the bullet is recovered they will automatikaly know who shot the person
guns like the ones the cops had in judge dreadthey put a dna profile on the bullet
and to prevent another school killing u have to close the schools
but then they will kill smwhere else

You can't. In america guns are more important than children's lives.
When this happened in the UK some years ago people were banned from keeping an arsenal of guns at home and most gun crime now consists of criminals killing each other except when the police shoot innocent people under the impression that they are terrorists but they don't seem to consider that a crime.

Remove the guns from whom? The law-abiding citizens only? The police? The military? And if not from all three, you think crooks in the police & army won't supply them to the criminals for cash? Leaving all the good people defenseless.

Smart one, you.

s I'd really love to give you the answer to solve this problem, but no real answer exists.

Parents can deny their children access to firearms, and I've done that. My considerable arsenal, is under lock and key. I don't suspect my kids are going to shoot anyone, but they're locked up to prevent theft. Locks serve a dual purpose!

My kids have access to knives all the time, but they stab no one. As a parent, or family member, I need to be aware of everyone mental state. If someone is going off the edge, I need to report it.

We have two cases of adults attacking children. Surely, they must have given off signs that they were off tilt!

Banning firearms, knives, letter-openers, bows and arrows, gasoline, and poisons; will never stop these irrational acts. By definition, these acts are irrational. We have no defense for irrational acts, and we never will.

there are very many ways to kill someone, giving up guns will not stop it. killing someone with a knife is easier than you know. i will never give up my weapons. if a person wants to kill someone bad enough he or she is going to do so no matter what we do. i don't believe anyone can stop sick people from any crime.

How about getting rid of the bullets instead? But then there'd be a black market for bullets.

How about teaching kids the golden rule again? How about letting them learn about God in school? How about not letting them do what they want, when they want, how they want? How about teaching them right from wrong? How about keeping them home rather than putting them in daycare? how about letting them watch less TV & play less video games?

Put everyone in a rubber cells except the good smart people (like you). You could make sure the rest of us don’t do anything that would be bad for us. That way no one will ever be harmed.
